Linktel Unveils Cutting-Edge ELSFP-UHP Module at ECOC 2024, Advancing Co-Packaged Optics Applications

　　ELSFP is an external laser light source designed to support Co-Packaged Optics (CPO), addressing the increasing need for high-speed and low-power optical solution driven by AI, ML, and HPC applications. To implement CPO, besides the removal of DSP chips and the adoption of silicon photonics platforms, a stable external laser source like ELSFP is essential, which offers several key functions:

• Thermal Management: Effectively isolates the laser source from the optical engine and core switching chip, reducing system thermal density and improving thermal management.
• Enhanced Reliability: Supports hot-swapping capabilities, allowing for quick replacement of failed lasers, ensuring system reliability and continuous operation.
• Safety Design: Features a sealed panel design to ensure eye safety by preventing direct exposure to lasers.
• Multi-Engine Support: A single laser source can simultaneously power multiple optical engines, enhancing system flexibility and efficiency.
