Zhongtian Technology has released a high-density optical cable with an ultra-large number of 17,280 cores
On June 22, 2026, at the 4th China International Supply Chain Promotion Expo, Zhongtian Technology Group（ZTT） officially released the world's current commercial optical cable with the highest core count - the 17,280-core ultra-large core count high-density ribbon optical cable, setting a new world record.
At present, AI and computing power centers are expanding rapidly, while traditional optical cable pipeline resources are tight and capacity is insufficient, and operation and maintenance costs continue to rise. Zhongtian Technology independently developed two core technologies: flexible optical fiber tape and ten-thousand-core precision bundling, achieving key breakthroughs. The outer diameter of the product is only 45 millimeters, integrating 17,280 optical fibers, with a core density leading the industry. It is equipped with flexible optical fiber belts, which have excellent bending performance and can be flexibly laid in small computer rooms and pipe networks.
Compared with the traditional 288-core optical cable, the transmission capacity is increased by 60 times. Under the same capacity, the space occupied by the pipeline is reduced by 92%, while the comprehensive carbon emissions are lowered by 88%, which is in line with the requirements of the "dual carbon" development. The product supports multi-level branching and multi-mode termination, is compatible with ultra-large-scale data centers, AI intelligent computing clusters and backbone transmission networks, and takes into account both the convenience of expansion and cost reduction and efficiency improvement throughout the entire life cycle.
Relying on the leading domestic 10,000-core integrated production line, the product can achieve stable mass production.
